• 'Physiotherapy in Women’s Health' was created and registered at Alcalá University of Madrid in 2007. Ever since its origin, its purpose has been women’s well-being and their health.
  • In 2010, the Group received the denomination of RECOGNISED RESEARCH GROUP CSS/2007R15.
  • This Group focuses on identifying and modifying the processes that affect women’s well-being and health in order to improve their overall quality of life.
  • The Physiotherapy in Women’s Health Research Group carries out several research projects in the regions of the Autonomous Community of Madrid and in Castilla-La Mancha.

Welcome to FPSM group

The Physiotherapy in Women’s Health Research Group (FPSM Group) located at Physiotherapy School of the University of Alcalá, is a multidisciplinary group. Formed by specialists in different fields of knowledge, the FPSM group covers areas such as Physiotherapy, Breast and Genitourinary Surgery, Oncology, Health Education, Applied Physiology, Public Health and Psychology. The FPSM group focuses on identifying and modifying processes that affect women’s health and well-being in order to improve their general quality of life.

Research Projects


The FPSM group has so far developed three funded projects: two of them were funded by the ISCII and counted with the collaboration of the University Hospital Princípe de Asturias. Nowadays we keep presenting combined research projects regarding women’s health.
