Registration

Registration and requirements

Admission

The language of instruction of this Master's programme is English, therefore applicants must document English language qualifications at the time of formalising registration. At least level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for languages is required.

Those who hold a degree in English Studies or Translation are exempted from this pre-requiste.

If the number of admission requests should exceed the maximum anticipated, the candidates will be selected according to the following criteria:

For the Teaching through English in Bilingual Schools track:

  1. - In-service primary or secondary school teachers of English involved in bilingual education programmes.
  2. - In-service primary or secondary school teachers of English in other schools.
  3. - University degree holders with an interest in bilingual education.

Nota: For point 3 the average mark of the student record and the Currículum vitae will be taken into account.

 

For the Developing English Teaching Skills track:

  1. - In-service teachers of English at primary, secondary schools or Official Language Schools.
  2. - Those with degrees in English Studies or Certified Foreign Language Teachers (English).
  3. - Graduates or qualified professionals with an interest in the teaching of English.

Note: For points 2 y 3 the average mark of the student record and the Currículum vitae will be taken into account.

 

Fees

Students will be enrolled as full-time students of the University of Alcalá and are therefore required to pay for the tuition fees set by the educational authorities of Madrid. For details about fees, please see the information in the Escuela de Postgrado's website

Tuition fees may be paid in full or in two instalments, with the first instalment due in October and the second instalment due in January.

Funding

The Spanish government also offers a few tuition scholarships. See the following link of the Postgraduate School, University of Alcalá (Escuela de Postgrado de la Universidad de Alcalá) or visit the Ministry of Education website.

Award

Successful completion of the Master’s programme will lead to the award of an official Degree, that will be presented by the University of Alcalá and will correspond to those offered by all Spanish universities.

Complaints and suggestions box

The aim of the Complaints and Suggestions Box is to keep a record of complaints, ideas or suggestions about how the Master works.

There are two ways for students to make a complaint or suggestion:

  • In person: by printing and handing in at any of the Registry offices of the University of Alcalá the properly completed form (PDF) .
  • Electronically: by sending the properly completed form (PDF) to quejas.sugerencias@uah.es . An email address must be given.

Students must identify themselves. Anonymous complaints or suggestions will not be dealt with.
