Programme structure

TEACHING TROUGH ENGLISH IN BILINGUAL SCHOOLS

This track is aimed at:

  • In-service primary or secondary school teachers of English, particularly those involved in bilingual education.
  • In-service teachers who teach subjects in English.
  • University degree holders with a good knowledge of English and an interest in bilingual education.
Core Courses (28 credits)

Teaching and Learning in a Bilingual Classroom

Resources and Materials: Analysis, Production, Adaptation

Oral Communication in Bilingual Teaching

4 cr.

English for the Classroom

4 cr.

Classroom Management and Motivation

Integrated Planning for Bilingual
Education

4 cr.

Reading and Writing in a Bilingual Classroom

4 cr.  
Choice of four Option Courses (16 credits)
1st semester 2nd semester
Computer-assisted Instruction 4 cr.

Short Stories for Creative Language Teaching

4 cr.

Observation and Research in the Classroom

4 cr. Content Subject Methodology 4 cr.

The Place of Literature in the Teaching of English

4 cr. Assessment 4 cr.

Poetry in the English Clasroom

4 cr. Creative Writing 4 cr.

Dealing with Grammar, Vocabulary and Pronunciation

4 cr.    
Writing Research Projects 4 cr.    

For completion of the Master's degree students must undertake one of the following activities (16 credits):

DEVELOPING ENGLISH TEACHING SKILLS

This track is aimed at:

  • In-service teachers of English at Official Schools of Languages and Politechnics.
  • University degree holders with a good knowledge of English and an interest in language teaching.
